Executive Director:

Oliver Cline Jones Jr.

A resident of Athens, Cline is a native of North Alabama where he has spent all his life in, on, and around the Tennessee River. He attended Brooks High School in Killen and the University of North Alabama School of Business in Florence. 

In addition to being the Executive Director of the Tennessee River Valley Association and the Tennessee-Cumberland Waterways Council, he is the Executive Director of Energy Fairness (formerly the Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy), serves on the State of Alabama’s Water Resources Commission, has been selected to Chair the next term of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Regional Resources Stewardship Council, serves as Board Chair of the Coalition of Alabama Waterway Associations, and is an active associate of the Waterways Council, Inc. 

Cline is a former Treasurer and Executive Committee Member of the National Waterways Conference, a former member of the Board of Directors of Inland Rivers Ports and Terminals, served as a participating alternate member of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s 2019 Integrated Resource Plan Working Group, is the former Board Chair of Energy  Fairness, and served on the Alabama Water Agencies Working Group’s  Focus Panel on Certificates of Use, Permitting, and Interbasin Transfers. 

Cline and his wife, Tobee, have been married for 37 years. They have a 20-year-old daughter, Jessika, who attends the University of Alabama in Huntsville and shares his love for boating, tennis, pickleball, songwriting, hiking, and photography.
